Bunny Wailer Claims Snoop Dogg Faked Rastafarianism

Bunny Wailer, one of the original members of Bob Marley and the Wailers, is none too happy about Snoop Dogg’s upcoming documentary “Reincarnated,” which details his transition into Rastafarianism. Bunny claims that Snoop has failed to meet “contractual, moral and verbal commitments.”
Leaders of the “Rastafari Millennium Council” were also mad about the documentary and sent the rapper a 7-page demand letter. Inside, the leaders explain to Snoop that “smoking weed and loving Bob Marley and reggae music is not what defines the Rastafari Indigenous Culture!”

The group is asking Snoop to drop the name “Lion, provide pay up the “financial and moral support” they believe he committed, and issue a public apology. If Snoop refuses, they plan on suing him.

No Album This Year But Releasing My Mixtape Says Wizkid

Recently it's surprising that the EME superstar Wizkid haven't been joining them on set for a while now; but not leaving the fact that he's been performing all around the world and also working with known international artistes; take for instance Jeezy who was formerly known as "Young Jeezy" and so many of them.

Apparently Wizkid made it known to his fans few weeks back that he's working on his Azonto Video which is expected to drop in few weeks time.

According to the information I gathered early today the artist tweeted that he's not dropping any album this year due to the mixtape he's working on but he scheduled his new album to be released in 2014 with no doubt.
He said the Mixtape is sounding like an album that he cannot wait to release it by April 2013

Fans showed how disappointed they were because he's not releasing it but he promised them next year.

Expect our reply coming up in a bit’.

Also commenting on the ban, KCEE of the disbanded pop group, KC Presh tweeted, ‘I think we have some drunk people working in NBC, what’s wrong with the videos they just banned?’

Selassie Vexed Socrates Over Creative Arts Minister’s Normination

A News1 report
Controversial movie producer, Socrates Safo has kicked against the President’s nomination of Minister-designate for Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts Ministry; but industry players have described the criticism as sour grapes fueled by partisan motives.
The President initially nominated Rashid Pelpuo for the job, but on Tuesday announced that he had reassigned the position to Mrs. Elizabeth Ofosu-Agyare.
SELASSIE
According to Socrates, President John Mahama erred in nominating someone who is not from the Creative Arts sector to head the Ministry.

Socrates, who openly campaigned for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the 2008 elections, with an explanation that John Mahama did not have the best plans for the Creative Arts sector, is now insisting the President must put someone from the Creative Arts sector in charge of the Ministry.
“We as Creative Arts people are a bunch of delicate persons and if we are not handled well, it’s either we will confuse and frustrate you or you will confuse and frustrate us. So it’s about time we got people who are in the industry to work for Creative Arts people.
If you bring technocrats, lawyers, scholars, whatever, you will create confusion in the industry.

In the end the government will not benefit from the idea and the purpose for which it has established the Ministry,” Mr. Safo  told Citi FM and also asked government to confer, in taking such decisions, with persons from the arts sector.
“We are very open, we know what we want, nobody can decide for us,” he noted.
Though several Creative Arts sector players have fumed at Socrates for his position, one of the persons who has openly come out to speak her mind is ace Ghanaian actress and producer Selassie Ibrahim, Chief Executive of Smarttys Management and Production.
“How dare he? What is the rationale of what Socrates is saying?
Is he telling us that all the Ministers have specialized training in the respective sectors they were appointed to?

So the Minister of Health must necessarily be a Medical Doctor, the Minister of Defence must be  from the Armed Forces, the Minister of Agric must own a farm, the Minister of Housing must be an Estate Developer,  the Minister of Chieftancy must be a Chief and so on and so forth.
“I don’t get the logic in what he is saying because this is a good thing the President has done and instead of we encouraging him to help our industry, we have some of our own people questioning his decision on which Minister he thinks would best help achieve his dreams for the industry?
“Why can’t Socrates take his time a bit to wait and see who becomes the deputy Minister but he is in a rush to condemn and criticize?
How dare he? Which President has ever shown a genuine and visible commitment to the Creative Arts industry than John? So what is he saying?
So he sees nothing positive about the fact that our industry is now being accepted and taken serious at the very apex of decision making in this country?
Such attitudes help no one and we must get serious”, an obviously vexed Selassie told NEWS-ONE in a telephone interview on Tuesday.
SAFO

Oh what her expectations of the Creative Arts Ministry were, Selassie said she expected that all the fragmented Creative Arts groups would be brought together under one umbrella.

Sa4a Design goes more stylish in 2013

Naa Ashorkor
Different styles have been featured in this month’s Glitz Africa Magazine edition with celebrities fully clad in one design or the other, thus, Naa Ashorkor isn’t taking it easy with her beaming Sa4a Design multi color heel and clutch.

As much as accolades are showered on the actress cum presenter-Naa Ashorkor, as well as on the photographer- Kwaku David, we need to appraise the talent of Abena Safoa Amoako Gyimah, the CEO of Sa4a Designs.

2012 was a great year for the designer who uses the patchwork technique in a unique way, taking the print-on-print trend and putting it all in one place as a covering. Their range consists of shoes and sandals but especially the bags and clutches are sweet.
In 2012, she won an award for Accessories Designer of the Year (Bags, Shoes & Hair Option) at the Ghana Fashion Awards 2012, earlier before then, she had picked up an award for ‘Chivas Luxury Man Design’ of the Year 2012.
All things being equal, in 2013, we hope Sa4a Designs brews more new ideas couple with her wild imagination and creativity to put Ghana as the centre of attraction in the world.
